Learning or improving on a second language involves expenditure and a great deal of trust in the competence, expertise of the person teaching. These three facts merit adequate individual monitoring of student's progress.
On-going feedback and focusing on a student's immediate needs is an important aspect in order to progress.
My approach is learner-centred, tailored to student needs. Balancing student's knowledge and cognitive skills in the deduction and breakdown of language in-hand rather than overloading with metalanguage.
All my tuition is book-based: Cambridge University Press or Oxford University Press. In accordance with the requirements to achieve a Cambridge certificate: Cambridge Preliminary-Cambridge First-Cambridge Advanced or Proficiency.
My classes are limited to 6 students. Exceptions to this rule only in collaboration with the group.
Lessons are active, hands-on with a focus on student involvement at all stages. All four skills are equally weighted. Inductive: listening and reading. Productive: speaking and writing.
